Arsenal came from behind to secure their third consecutive Premier League win with a 3-1 triumph over Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

The Gunners fell behind to a Bryan Mbeumo goal in the 13th minute, as Brentford searched for their first win in five games.

However, Gabriel Jesus’s sixth goal in four matches leveled the score. A quick double from Mikel Merino and Gabriel Martinelli ensured Arsenal started 2025 on a high note.

Despite the result, it was Thomas Partey’s outstanding display that stole the spotlight.

Amid ongoing contract negotiations, with Arsenal yet to offer an extension, the 31-year-old reminded the club of his value by dominating the midfield from start to finish.

Partey played the full 90 minutes, and his performance sparked discussions among fans, with many calling for the club to extend his contract.

Partey’s game by numbers include; 72 touches, 51/61 accurate passes (84%), 1 shot on target, 6/6 ground duels won and 3/2 aerial duels won
