Black Stars midfielder, Thomas Partey, made his Spanish La Liga debut for Villareal against Real Oviedo.
Partey, who joined Villareal as a free agent from Arsenal, was handed his debut in the 82nd minute against newly-promoted side, Real Oviedo, on the opening day of the new La Liga season.
Partey’s introduction helped the home side to control the tempo of the game, thus protecting their 2-0 lead and ending the night with their first victory and three points of the new football season.
His introduction in the game against Real Oviedo on Friday, August 15, 2025, marked his return to the La Liga after four and a half years in England playing for Arsenal.
The Ghanaian also received huge applauds from Villareal fans before his introduction in the game in the 76th minute.
