Ghanaian attacker Kudus Mohammed was in the spotlight as fans anticipated how he would fare against one of the world’s top left-backs, Marc Cucurella, during Tottenham Hotspur’s clash with Chelsea.
The match, held at Tottenham Stadium on November 1, 2025, saw Spurs fall to their London rivals 1–0, with Joao Pedro’s goal sealing the win for the Blues.
Kudus, who plays on the right wing, had several encounters with Cucurella, where both players showcased their skill and tenacity.

In one-on-one situations, Kudus attempted to dribble past the Spanish defender in the penalty box but was unable to beat him and opted to turn back and pass the ball.
In another moment during a counter-attack, Kudus held onto possession but was quickly swarmed by Chelsea players, with Cucurella sliding in to clear the ball decisively.
The left-back marked the Black Stars forward closely and, on several occasions, intercepted passes before they reached Kudus.
Kudus did not deliver his usual influential performance in the game, falling short of the impact he typically makes on the right side.
Since joining Spurs, Kudus has scored once and provided five assists in 15 matches.
