The Black Stars have humiliated the Central African Republic (CAR), boosting their chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

The match, played in Morocco on Tuesday October 8, 2025, began with intense pressing from the Black Stars as they asserted their dominance.

Mohammed Salisu opened the scoring with a well-placed header from a corner kick to break the deadlock.

Shortly after, Jordan Ayew’s brilliant pass to Thomas Partey was neatly converted by the midfielder to extend Ghana’s lead.

Further goals from Alexander Djiku (header), Jordan Ayew (clinical finish), and Kamal Deen Sulemana sealed an emphatic 5-0 victory for the Black Stars.

The win takes Ghana to the top of Group I with 22 points, followed by Madagascar with 19 points, while Mali and Comoros occupy the third and fourth spots with 15 points each.

Ghana will face Comoros in the final group game at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 12, 2025.

A win or draw in that fixture will be enough to secure the Black Stars a place in the 2026 World Cup.
