Black Stars winger Ernest Nuamah scored a brace in Olympique Lyon’s dominant win over FCB Bucharest in the UEFA Europa League Round of 16.

The Ghanaian netted twice in the 4-0 victory as Lyon advanced to the quarterfinals with a 7-1 aggregate win.

Nuamah doubled Lyon’s lead in the first half with a brilliant finish inside the box after overpowering his marker.

He later put the icing on the cake, scoring the fourth goal for the home side by connecting with a cross from Georges Mikautadze.

Nuamah played the full 90 minutes and was named Man of the Match after an outstanding performance. He registered 58 touches, completed all four of his attempted dribbles, made three recoveries, and won five ground duels. He also struck the woodwork once and scored twice, capping off his display with a 9.3 rating on FotMob.

The 21-year-old, who also scored in Lyon’s win over OGC Nice in Ligue 1, has now found the net in back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Meanwhile, Ernest Nuamah has been named in the Black Stars squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
