FC Barcelona mounted a comeback to defeat Atletico Madrid 4-2 at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano on March 16, 2025, in the Spanish La Liga.

Argentine forward Julian Alvarez scored in the 45th minute after capitalizing on a cross from Giuliano Simeone to break the deadlock.

Things got worse for Barcelona when Sorloth put the ball into the net following a cross from Conor Gallagher in the 70th minute.

However, the Blaugrana were revitalized when Robert Lewandowski scored two minutes after conceding the second goal. Right after that, Ferran Torres leveled the score with a nice header that beat Atletico goalie Jan Oblak.

Despite Atletico’s resilient defensive work, Lamine Yamal stepped up and fired a shot that took a deflection and found the back of the net, giving Barcelona the lead.

Ferran Torres scored his second goal to give his side an emphatic 4-2 victory in the game.

The result has put Barcelona in a stronger position to win La Liga, as they lead the table with 60 points from 27 matches, with a game in hand.

Real Madrid are second with 60 points, and Atletico Madrid are third with 56 points, with both teams having played 28 games.
