Asante Kotoko cruised to a comfortable victory over Legon Cities on Sunday, March 9, 2025, resuming the league on a strong note.
The Porcupine Warriors secured a 2-0 win at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, with goals from Patrick Asiedu and Kwame Poku.
Asiedu opened the scoring in the first half with a brilliant strike from outside the box, finding the bottom right corner.
Kotoko sealed the victory in the second half after Kwame Poku converted a penalty.
This was their first league game since the passing of their fan, Nana Pooley, in February.
Following the win, Asante Kotoko have returned to the top of the table, overtaking Hearts of Oak, who had claimed the top spot after their victory over Holy Stars on Saturday.
