Alidu Seidu and Fatawu Issahaku sustained ACL injuries in the 2024/25 season

Stade Rennais defender, Alidu Seidu and winger Fatawu Issahaku shared their sentiments upon returning to the national team in a lighthearted and engaging conversation.

Both players were ruled out of the 2024/2025 season after sustaining anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, which kept them sidelined throughout the campaign.

Following successful recoveries, the duo received call-ups to join the Black Stars for the World Cup qualification matches against the Central African Republic and Comoros.

In a video shared on X, Alidu Seidu began the conversation with the Leicester City winger in their local dialect, asking how his teammate was faring after recovering from the injury.

However, midway through the exchange, Issahaku playfully claimed that Alidu was not fluent in English and challenged him to speak the language, leading to a humorous back-and-forth.

Here is how the conversation unfolded:

Issahaku: He doesn’t like English. I’ve told you he’s not good he cannot speak English. Okay, let’s speak English now.

Alidu: Last week, you had a long shot on the pole. What came to your mind?

Issahaku: Yeah, I’m used to getting the ball into the net, but unfortunately I didn’t get the goal. Maybe next time.

Alidu: Another question, what’s the feeling like coming back into the national team?

Issahaku: It’s good you’re asking this question because it feels great to be back from an ACL injury. You were also a victim, so it feels amazing running again, playing football, and enjoying it.

Alidu: I like the energy, and it’s good you are performing.
