The last Merseyside derby at Goodison Park delivered everything fans had hoped for. However, it was the chaos after the final whistle that truly captured their attention.

A scuffle broke out between players and staff, leading to three red cards after full-time.

Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, along with Curtis Jones and Abdoulaye Doucouré of Everton, were all sent off.

Before the game, both teams had 41 wins each at Goodison Park, making this derby a chance to claim bragging rights.

Everton took an early lead and looked poised to secure victory until Mohamed Salah seemed to turn the tide for Liverpool. His 73rd-minute strike put the Reds 2-1 up after Alexis Mac Allister had earlier equalized.

However, Liverpool’s hopes were shattered when James Tarkowski unleashed a stunning strike past Alisson, levelling the score at 2-2.

The fiery contest had lived up to expectations, but tensions boiled over after the final whistle.

Doucouré ran towards the away end and aimed a celebration at the Liverpool fans, provoking an angry reaction from Curtis Jones.

He confronted Doucouré, and soon, other Liverpool players joined the altercation. Stewards and police had to step in to break up the melee.

Once order was restored, referee Michael Oliver issued second yellow cards to both Jones and Doucouré, sending them off.

Slot also saw red after engaging in a heated exchange with Oliver, refusing to let go of the referee’s hand after their post-match handshake.

Despite catching up on their fixture schedule, Liverpool’s lead over Arsenal remains at seven points.
