    A 30-second video of President John Dramani Mahama has gone viral on social media, where he was seen throwing cedi notes on his sister during a burial ceremony.

    In the video that is making waves on X on October 25, 2025, President Mahama was seen spraying 200 paper notes on his sister, Hawa Mahama, during the final funeral rites of her mother-in-law, Dora Okyere Akosah.

    The videotape shows his sister, Hawa Mahama, dressed in an all-black outfit with a red cloth tied around her waist, dancing in front of the president.

    President John Dramani Mahama, also dressed in an all-black outfit, was seen getting up to show appreciation to his sister by showering her with the banknotes.

    Shortly after the money appreciation gesture, he took his seat while his sister continued to exchange pleasantries with other guests, including the Minister of Trade and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare.

    Hawa Mahama was seen picking up the money that had been showered on her by the president.

    Meanwhile, the video has triggered reactions online as some netizens have expressed different views on social media.
