In the Dormaa West Constituency in the Bono Region, the delivery of electoral materials was briefly delayed when a bus transporting the materials from Nkran-Nkwanta Senior High School got stuck on the road en route to Abusuapadee.

The situation required intervention from both security personnel and Electoral Commission (EC) staff, who worked together to free the vehicle.

The rescue operation took nearly 30 minutes, causing a short disruption in the timely delivery of materials.

Eyewitnesses reported that the bus faced difficulties due to the poor condition of the road, preventing it from continuing its journey without assistance.

In response, EC officials and security teams quickly mobilized to ensure the materials reached their intended polling stations without further delay.

Despite the brief setback, the disruption did not significantly affect the voting process in Dormaa West. Once the bus was cleared, the electoral materials were successfully delivered to polling stations, allowing voting to proceed as scheduled.

The Electoral Commission reassured the public that measures were being taken to prevent any further delays and to ensure the smooth and efficient conduct of the election across the region.

The role of the youth in the elections will be significant as they make up 55% of the voter population.

A total of 40,976 polling centres will be used for the 2024 elections, with 328 already used for the Special Voting exercises that took place on Monday, December 2, and Thursday, December 5, 2024.

According to data published by CODEO, the largest CSO in elections, the 2024 elections will feature 801 parliamentary candidates vying for the 276 seats.
