A video of one of the aggrieved members of the Coalition of Unpaid Nurses and Midwives has gone viral on social media after the group staged a protest to demand its unpaid 10-month allowances.

In the video shared on X on October 2, 2025, one of the aggrieved nurses, who was seen crying, shared how the unpaid allowances have negatively affected her.

According to the nurse, who failed to disclose her identity, she has not been able to settle her 10-month rent, adding that her landlord has always been demanding the money.

“We are just pleading with the government to pay us. We have been working for 10 good months, with no salary. Personally, my rent expired on 15th August, and I have not been able to pay. My landlord is always asking when I am going to pay. All I do is beg,” she said.

The nurse further shared the struggles she goes through, commuting from Pantang to Korle-Bu despite not being paid for months.

“I stay at Pantang and work at Korle-Bu. I take transportation GH¢ 42 to work every day. How are they expecting me to work?… I am doing all this work just for the minister to tell me that he appreciates what I am doing.

“What sort of appreaction is that? How can someone be working, and all you can say is you appreciate the person for 10 good months? I can’t stand it,” she added.
