The control room of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was thrown into jubilation following projections of victory for the party’s candidate in the Akwatia by-election.

In a video shared by The 1957 News on X on September 2, 2025, members of the party’s internal collation team are seen singing the party’s “Revolution” chant in celebration.

A screenshot from the party’s internal collation system shows the NDC’s Bernard Baidoo leading with 16,175 votes, representing 54.70%, while the New Patriotic Party’s Kwame Asumadu trails with 13,230 votes, representing 44.74%.

These figures are based on results collated from 105 out of 120 polling stations. They remain provisional, as the Electoral Commission is expected to declare the final results of the Akwatia by-election.
