The mortal remains of the late Highlife legend Daddy Lumba was moved to his East Legon residence after the Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu signed and collected the body from Transition Funeral Home.

Videos circulating online show the remains being transported in Transition Funeral Home vehicles to the singer’s private home before continuing to Kumasi’s Heroes Park, where the final funeral rites will take place on December 13, 2025.

The family head, Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu, expressed relief and satisfaction after securing a key court ruling that cleared the way for the burial to proceed on the scheduled date.

He also appealed to the public and fans of the late musician to honour him by attending the funeral.

Earlier on December 12, 2025, the court noted that affidavits suggested the immediate family had been sidelined in the funeral planning.

It directed that the merits of the case be properly examined and ordered the applicants to appear before 2:00 p.m. and pay GH¢2 million into court to defray costs already incurred in preparing for the funeral.

The applicants failed to meet the deadline, leading to their plea being struck out. This removed the final legal barrier and allowed funeral activities to continue.

The injunction had briefly paused arrangements, creating uncertainty for relatives and fans who had already gathered in Kumasi for the solemn event. With the case dismissed, preparations for the burial proceeding as planned.
