The streets were filled with people from all walks of life The streets were filled with people from all walks of life

It was a typical moment of joy and excitement in the Eastern Region, particularly at Kwahu Obomeng and its surrounding areas.

On the night of Sunday, April 20, people from all walks of life gathered on the streets to celebrate the Easter festivities.

Roads were crowded with both vehicles and pedestrians, as music and dancing filled the atmosphere. Traders lined the streets, offering a wide variety of goods and services.

As usual, GhanaWeb was present with our cameras, capturing these lively and unforgettable moments from both local residents and visitors from outside the region.

A food vendor who spoke to our reporter lamented the slowdown in business this year. According to her, sales during this period in previous years were good, but that has not been the case this time.

She further said she paid over two thousand Ghana Cedis to secure her selling space, yet business has remained slow.

“This year, business has been slow, and we’ve incurred significant costs. The turnout for Kwahu has been lower than expected, leaving many of our food items unsold. People simply aren’t buying, and we’ve suffered major losses.

“Despite everything, we remain grateful to God. The expenses have been overwhelming — I paid GH¢2,500 for three days, including logistics. Yet, we are struggling to even make GH¢2,000 per day, which clearly shows that things are not going well,” she said.

Apart from that, many people captured on camera were visibly excited, with most of them expressing their joy at being part of the Kwahu experience once again.

GhanaWeb also documented vibrant street scenes, where crowds jammed to music playing in the background.

Some individuals were also seen enjoying video games, while others seized the moment to engage in trading and sales.
