Ahead of the much-anticipated 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) set for Saturday, May 10, GhanaWeb Entertainment hit the streets of Accra to find out from music lovers which artiste they believe deserves to win the coveted Artiste of the Year award.

Fans shared a mix of expectations and predictions, with names like Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, King Paluta, and King Promise frequently mentioned as strong contenders for the top honor.

“I want Black Sherif to win Artiste of the Year because his music is meaningful and uplifting. The way he delivers it just makes you happy. Everyone has their own opinion, King Promise is great too, but Black Sherif’s songs give you a certain kind of high spirit,” one fan stated.

Another music enthusiast threw his weight behind King Promise.

“It’s King Promise for me. He’s been consistent, doing a lot, and the numbers speak for themselves. I also hope to see every artiste perform on stage, they all have the momentum to pull a crowd.”

A female fan echoed the support for King Promise, “I want King Promise to win Artiste of the Year because he has been consistent, and he hasn’t had the chance to win it yet. This should be his year.”

In the Telecel Most Popular Song category, fans tipped Black Sherif, King Promise, and gospel group Team Eternity for the win.

“I want Team Eternity to win Most Popular Song because their song went global. I don’t usually listen to that genre, but it deserves to win,” said one fan.

Another supporter noted, “I want KiDi and Black Sherif to win with their Lomo Lomo song. It’s the most popular track so far.”

The 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards will take place at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), with performances from top artistes including Stonebwoy, King Promise, King Paluta, KiDi, Beeztrap KOTM, and Ayisi, among others.
