Ghanaian musician Black Sherif has been trending online after a video capturing him being pelted with water for arriving late to perform went viral.

In the video sighted by GhanaWeb, Black Sherif was performing at the Takoradi Mall Event Center on June 21, 2025, when fans suddenly started throwing bottles of water at him.

According to reports, the “Soma Obi” hitmaker was scheduled to begin his performance at 7 PM but only appeared on stage at 5 AM.

In the viral footage, as Black Sherif was being drenched with water, he urged the fans to direct their frustration at the event promoters as well.

“Throw more, throw more… As you are throwing the bottles at me, do the same to the promoters. Throw more water,” he said.

GhanaWeb’s sources indicate that Black Sherif arrived at the venue on time, at 7 PM, but was only called to perform at 5 AM.

Other videos from the event also captured patrons expressing disappointment with the late performance.

Meanwhile, this development has stirred mixed reactions on social media.

While some netizens have criticised Black Sherif for his late appearance on stage, others have condemned the audience’s behaviour, describing it as disrespectful and unwarranted.
