Legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated Sadio Mané’s triumph with Senegal at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco by presenting him with a cake.
In a video that went viral on social media, Al Nassr players gathered to honour the Senegalese attacker, sharing a cake in appreciation of his achievement.
Mané cut the cake as his teammates cheered enthusiastically. Afterwards, when the AFCON winner attempted to cut his own slice, the Portuguese legend took the knife, cut a piece of the cake, placed it on a plate, and handed it to Mané as a sign of respect for his feat.

Later, the players and head coach Jorge Jesus were also served cake, and they all enjoyed it together while celebrating their teammate’s success with the national team.
Such celebrations are common in football, where players who win major titles with their national teams are honoured by their clubs and teammates as a gesture of appreciation.
Senegal, on Sunday, January 18, 2026, were crowned Champions of Africa for the second time in their history after defeating host nation Morocco 1-0 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
The President of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, received the players, the entire technical team, and officials at the Presidential Palace to thank them for their service and for putting smiles on the faces of the Senegalese people with their victory.
The players and head coach, Pape Thiaw, were formally bestowed with state honours after being elevated to the rank of Commander within the National Order of the Lion.
Senegal have now joined the list of countries that have won the Africa Cup of Nations more than once.
