    The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, led party supporters in chants for former Vice President and aspiring flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, during the latter’s recent tour of the Ashanti Region.

    A video that went viral on X on Saturday, September 13, 2025, captures Wontumi declaring, “Bawumia, no change,” as supporters echoed the chant in unison.

    Dr Bawumia’s three-day campaign tour of the Ashanti Region formed part of his efforts to rally delegates ahead of his bid to lead the NPP into the 2028 elections.

    ‘No NPP aspirant will be president unless Bawumia leads first’ – Chairman Wontumi

    The tour, which began on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, highlighted the strong support he continues to enjoy among party faithful.
