A video has emerged showing the Black Queens arriving at the Accra Sports Stadium for training ahead of their 2026 WAFCON qualifier second leg against Egypt, just hours after threatening to boycott the match over unpaid bonuses.

The senior women’s national team had earlier refused to train and vowed not to play Tuesday’s game unless their outstanding bonuses from the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco were paid. Each player is reportedly owed $9,500 from that campaign, which ended in July.

On Monday, October 27, 2025, Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku and Minister of Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams met the players at their hotel to resolve the impasse, but talks failed to yield results.

Later that afternoon, former Black Stars captain Andre Ayew also visited the camp.

Hours later, the Queens were seen reporting to the Accra Sports Stadium for training, suggesting a breakthrough in the standoff. The mood appeared positive as the players took to the pitch for their final session before the decisive clash.

Among them was GFA President Kurt Okraku, who was captured warmly greeting the players with handshakes as they made their way onto the pitch.

Ghana will face Egypt on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in the return leg of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, with the Black Queens holding a 3-0 advantage from the first leg in Ismailia.
