A heated exchange erupted on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV when Beatrice Annan, a presidential staffer clashed with Akosua Manu, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 Parliamentary Candidate for Adentan, on Monday, July 14, 2025.

The two engaged in a verbal confrontation that quickly turned personal, veering off political issues into direct accusations and biting remarks.

Things escalated when Akosua Manu rejected suggestions that she was trying to emulate her political opponent, stating: “I’m actually not obsessed with you. Never! This is the narcissism and pettiness I talk about.”

Beatrice Annan shot back: “I am everything you pray for and more.”

In response, Akosua Manu continued; “This is the narcissism and the pettiness that I talk about — that she assumes I want to be like her. Indeed, with her collar looking like a crow. But I don’t want to get into pettiness this morning. I do not, in any stretch, want to be like you, and to me, that was an insult.”

She also criticised Annan for trivialising serious issues, particularly regarding violence against women in politics.

“You come and sit here to trivialise an issue and put blame on a middle-aged woman who was just defending herself,” she said.
