Daddy Lumba’s backing vocalist, Ateaa Tina, recently visited the late legend’s widow, Akosua Serwaa, at her home in Germany to offer comfort and support during a difficult time.

In a video shared on social media, Ateaa Tina and Akosua Serwaa were seen embracing warmly, showing the bond and affection they share.

The singer disclosed that it had been more than 20 years since her last visit, prompting her journey from Amsterdam to Germany to reconnect with Akosua Serwaa.

During the visit, the two women took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, exploring Daddy Lumba’s recording studio located in the house.

Ateaa Tina walked through the studio, looking back on past experiences as she recognised the music equipment and recalled some of the songs they had recorded there together.

She explained that the visit was motivated by a desire to console Akosua Serwaa after Daddy Lumba’s passing and to ensure she was coping well.

“She took me in when I was a teenager. She took me into her house, cooked for me and made sure we were fine. So today we came all the way from Amsterdam to make sure she was fine.

“They say when your loved one is mourning, you mourn with them. I had to make sure I saw her. I want you all to know she is doing amazing. I love her. We are team love, so we are taking care of her,” Ateaa Tina said.

The visit also gave Ateaa Tina a chance to reminisce about the past with Akosua Serwaa and other friends, recalling moments that shaped her career.

Ateaa Tina worked closely with Daddy Lumba on numerous albums, contributing significantly to the richness of Ghanaian Highlife music.
