A video has surfaced on social media ahead of the impending release of convicted Ghanaian preacher Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa.
In the video, shared via X on February 26, 2026, some individuals were seen repainting and refurbishing Agradaa’s church in anticipation of her release from prison.
The footage has since sparked massive reactions online, with netizens expressing mixed views.
Here’s when Nana Agradaa could be released from prison
While some have voiced disappointment over the court’s decision to reduce Agradaa’s jail sentence from 15 years to 12 months, others believe the convicted preacher, despite being a repeat offender, could still positively impact lives.
Background
Nana Agradaa, founder of Godsway International Church, was convicted of defrauding by false pretences after allegedly duping church members through a money-doubling scheme during an all-night service at her Weija church in Accra.
On July 3, 2025, she was initially sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment with hard labour.
Her lawyers filed an appeal on July 7, 2025, arguing that the trial judge had erred by shifting the burden of proof onto the defendant despite what they described as insufficient evidence from the prosecution.
Reducing Nana Agradaa’s sentence to one year sets a bad precedent – Lawyer
On February 5, 2026, the High Court in Amasaman, presided over by Justice Solomon Oppong-Twumasi, significantly reduced her sentence from 15 years to one year.
The court also ordered her to refund GH¢1,000 to the victims and clarified that the one-year sentence takes effect from the date of her original sentencing in July 2025.
