Abu Francis has officially settled into life at Toulouse after performing his initiation dance at the club’s training ground this week.

The 24-year-old, who joined the French side in the summer from Belgian outfit Cercle Brugge, made his long-awaited Ligue 1 debut on Sunday, September 14, 2025, against Lille.

Francis missed Toulouse’s opening three league fixtures due to injury, but was finally handed a starting spot by Coach Carles Martinez.

His return was bittersweet, however, as Toulouse looked poised for a third Ligue 1 win before Lille struck twice in stoppage time to snatch victory.

Just days after the disappointment, Francis was in high spirits as he took part in the traditional initiation ritual for new signings.

In a video released by the club on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, the Ghanaian midfielder stood on a chair in the dressing room, introduced himself to teammates by stating his name, age, and origins, before breaking into song.

To the delight of his new teammates, Francis chose to perform Black Sherif’s hit track, Shut Up, creating a lively atmosphere as players cheered him on.

The light-hearted moment marked another step in Francis’ integration into the squad, as he looks to establish himself in Toulouse’s midfield this season.

Having spent three seasons in Belgium, where he built a reputation as a dominant force, Francis now has the opportunity to test himself in Ligue 1.
