    Wailers FC crowned champions of 2024 Bowmarie Football Gala

    In a thrilling finale to the 2024 Bowmarie Football Gala Competition, Wailers FC emerged victorious over Rex Academy in a nail-biting penalty shootout, clinching the title with a 3-1 win after regulation time ended in a 3-3 draw.

    The match, held at the Kpandai Town Park, was a tense affair from start to finish. Both teams had their fair share of chances during the 90 minutes, as the game ended 3-3, leading to the dreaded penalty shootout.

    Wailers FC and Rex Academy FC each took five penalties, with Rex Academy missing two and Wailers FC missing one. Danla Greatness of Wailers FC was named the player of the match for his outstanding performance, contributing significantly to his team’s success.

    The football gala featured 11 teams: Bawmarie FC, Winco FC, Wailers FC, Samba Boys FC, Rex Academy FC, Bayern Munich FC, Puma FC, Wounded Lions FC, White Lions FC, and Meme Young Stars FC.

    The awards ceremony saw Prosper Manyina of Rex Academy named the best player, Malik Yakubu of Puma FC from Ketiejeli named the best goalkeeper, and Danla Greatness of Wailers FC crowned the goals king.

    The first-place team took home a trophy, a set of jerseys, footballs, and an amount of GH¢300.00. The second-place team walked home with a set of jerseys and an amount of GH¢200.00, while the third-place team took home footballs and GH¢ 100.00.

    At the closing ceremony after the match, the CEO of Bowanie Resort, Mr. Emmanuel Bow, congratulated Wailers FC on their well-deserved victory, highlighting the power of sports in fostering unity and camaraderie.

    The event showcased the spirit of sportsmanship and the power of unity in achieving common goals, inspiring a sense of community and togetherness among the youth and people of Kpandai and the surrounding communities.

    The event is proudly sponsored by Bowmarie Resort, located within the Kpandai District.
