The Ghana women’s national football team are expected to conclude their training camp in the United Arab Emirates on Friday after their final Pink Ladies Cup fixture against Tanzania women’s national football team.

The development comes after the Confederation of African Football confirmed the postponement of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which had originally been scheduled to take place from March 17 to April 3, 2026 in Morocco. CAF announced on Thursday that the tournament has now been rescheduled to run from July 25 to August 16, 2026 following consultations with FIFA and other stakeholders.

Ghana’s senior women’s team has been camping in the UAE as part of preparations for the continental competition and has impressed during the Pink Ladies Cup. The Black Queens recorded convincing 4-0 victories over Hong Kong women’s national football team and Russia women’s national football team to build strong momentum.

However, uncertainty surrounds the team’s departure from Sharjah after authorities reportedly suspended air transport in parts of the region due to escalating tensions.

Players and officials are awaiting clearance and travel arrangements that will enable them to leave the country safely after their final match.

Despite the situation, the camp has provided valuable preparation as Ghana continues to build on its third-place finish at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
