President Donald Trump is facing slipping approval according a flurry of new polls released days before he hits the 100-day mark in office.
According to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll, his backing is at 42 percent with only 37 percent approving of his handling of the economy.
That differs from DailyMail.com’s exclusive poll out last week that found Trump is at 54 percent approval, tied with his highest-ever rating in February.
Trump sat down with TIME Magazine where he defended his tariffs.
The president insisted the U.S. is ‘gonna have the wealthiest country we’ve ever had, and you’re gonna have an explosion upward in the not-too-distant future.’

Donald Trump pardons glamorous gun-toting Nevada Republican convicted of using funds raised to honor a slain officer for plastic surgery
President Donald Trump pardoned Nevada Republican politician Michele Fiore who was convicted for fraud after prosecutors claimed she used money raised for a fallen police officer’s memorial for personal use.
An active and unapologetic Trump supporter, Fiore’s career included serving as a former Las Vegas city councilwoman and state lawmaker and rose through the Nevada Republican party despite a long history of controversial news coverage.
In 2014, she raised tens of thousands of dollars through a charity and political action committee for a statue honoring Metropolitan Police Department officer Alyn Beck, who was shot and killed in the line of duty.
Has Trump been snubbed at Pope’s funeral? President to get ‘third-tier seat’ at service
Donald Trump is expected to have a ‘third-tier seat’ at Pope Francis‘ funeral mass despite being among the first to confirm that he would be attending the service.
Trump, who is accustomed to being front and centre at world events, is unlikely to have a prominent position in the seating arrangements when he arrives at St. Peter’s Basilica tomorrow morning.
The Vatican is today making final preparations for the pontiff’s funeral and has not yet released the official seating chart.
New polls show that Trump’s approval rating is slipping
Reuters/Ipsos: 42%
Pew Research Center: 40%
The Economist/YouGov: 41%
Fox News: 44%
Meanwhile, a survey out last week from DailyMail.com/J.L. Partners found that the Republican president still remains popular with more than half of the country.
His current approval rating sits at 54 percent the new survey found. That’s a tie with his all-time highest.
The decline in his rating suggests that some Americans are unhappy with his topsy-turvy tariff implementation.
