If Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is elected president, he has a bold proposal to install Astroturfs in every Ghanaian district.

Dr. Bawumia emphasised the accomplishments of the NPP government under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, pointing out that the administration has constructed almost 150 Astroturfs nationwide, a substantial rise from the three that were in place in 2017.

During a recent campaign stop in Dambai, he promised to construct an Astroturf for the community and emphasized his commitment to expanding sporting facilities nationwide.

We will be constructing an Astroturf for you in Dambai in the next weeks. If current trends continue, there should be an Astroturf in every district. There were only three Astroturfs in the country when we took government in 2017, but after eight years, there are now 150.

He declared in a video posted by GHOne TV on X that “when we come into power again, we will make sure the rest of the districts without one will get it.” Dr. Bawumia continues to interact with communities as the elections on December 7, 2024, draw near in order to present his policies and vision for Ghana.
