A large crowd gathered in Agavedzi in the Volta Region on April 6th, 2026, as the National Recreation and Wellness Program (NaRWP) partnered with Kedzi Norvikporgbe ZA to host a major wellness walk and aerobic session aimed at promoting healthy living.
More than 2,000 participants from across the region took part in the event, which started in Agavedzi, passed through Blekusu, and ended in Kedzi. The initiative brought together people of all ages, highlighting growing interest in fitness and community-based health activities.
The programme attracted several dignitaries, including Betty Krosbi Mensah, who stressed the importance of regular physical activity in preventing non-communicable diseases such as stroke, obesity, and diabetes. She encouraged Ghanaians to adopt daily exercise routines, noting that even 30 minutes of activity can significantly improve overall health.
Traditional leaders and local officials, including Togbi Joachim Acorlatse V, joined the walk to demonstrate support for the initiative.
The event featured energetic aerobics and ended with water volleyball and handball games. Organisers described the programme as a success and pledged to expand similar initiatives nationwide.
