    Volta chiefs secure Chinese partnerships for investment

    An eight-member delegation of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs (VRHC) has signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Chinese companies to attract investment, promote technology transfer and support infrastructure development in the region.

    The agreements, signed on Wednesday during a one-week business visit to China, cover technology, construction and investment.

    The President of the VRHC and leader of the delegation, Togbe Tepre Hodo, signed the first MoU with Guangdong Welleap Information Technology Company, a Chinese technology firm, to drive digital transformation and facilitate technology transfer in the Volta Region.

    The second agreement, signed with Foshan Jinting Construction Engineering Company Limited, a construction and engineering firm in Foshan, focuses on infrastructure and industrial development.

    The third, a comprehensive investment agreement, was signed with SINOHUI Investment Ghana Limited and is expected to provide a vehicle for channelling Chinese direct investment into Ghana.

    Togbe Tepre Hodo said the agreements formed part of a strategic effort to reposition the Volta Region, and Ghana as a whole, for sustainable development through international partnerships.

    He said the technology partnership would accelerate digital transformation and technology transfer, while the construction agreement would support infrastructure and industrial development. Read More
