Terrified passengers on a Virgin Australia plane have spent over an hour circling Sydney after two aborted landings due to bad weather and a technical issue.
Flight VA916 departed Brisbane at 7.44am local time on Wednesday and was due to arrive in Sydney at 9.40am AEDT.
However, a series of issues stopped the plane from making a smooth landing.
Pilots were instructed to circle the Sydney coastline twice in a ‘go around’ for almost an hour before finally landing about 10.45am AEDT.
It came after two aborted attempts to land the plane.
The first was abandoned due to low-hanging clouds and heavy rain, while the second was due to a technical issue with the left wing of the plane.
More to come.
