A widely-circulated video showcasing massive pedestrian congestion on Oshodi bridge in Lagos State has elicited various reactions from the public.

In the early morning of March 3, pedestrians were seen navigating both sides of the Oshodi bridge, struggling to reach their various destinations amid the hustle and bustle.

Some pedestrians reported that the other Oshodi bridge has been closed for maintenance since 2024 due to concerns about its potential collapse.

With no other options available, they were compelled to use the bridge to cross to the other side of the road. Crossing the highway or railway is prohibited, and those caught doing so face arrest by enforcement officials.

Reactions have poured in on social media with many speculating the possibility of pickpocketing amid the crowd.

    See reactions below,

@the_lawrenz This is a hazard 😢. A stampede can occur at anytime.

@smah_cee I was on that bridge this morning, I don’t even know how I did it! Argh God!! It was terrifying

@Kat_pesch Make una hold una phone well ooo…some no get where dem Dey go

@ogetogeo It’s not about the traffic but the reason for the traffic. The second bridge is bad, authorities should fix it to avoid disaster not everything is funny.
