A video showing Yaa Baby handling a firearm has resurfaced on social media, with some users claiming it’s the same gun involved in her tragic death. The video’s authenticity and connection to the incident have not been officially confirmed by the police.

Yaa Baby, whose real name was Phillipa Frimpong, was shot and killed by her boyfriend, GH Kobby, on June 10, 2025, in Yeji, Ghana. GH Kobby allegedly fired warning shots into the air, but the gun accidentally discharged and hit Yaa Baby in the left arm. She was rushed to St. Martin’s Hospital, where she sadly passed away.

The incident has sparked widespread grief online, with many expressing sorrow over Yaa Baby’s loss and calling for stricter gun control and responsibility, especially among public figures and influencers. GH Kobby and two others, Kojo Emmanuel and Michael Kabutey, have been arrested and are currently in police custody. The Ghana Police Service is conducting a full investigation to determine whether the shooting was an accident or involved negligence or misconduct.
