Following the FBI’s arrest of Ghanaian business mogul Frederick Kumi, popularly known as Abu Trica, over his alleged involvement in an $8 million romance scam scheme, an old video of a Ghanaian prophet predicting the issue has surfaced online.
In a video shared on social media by Zionfelix on December 11, 2025, the prophet, identified as Nana Kwame, head of Trinity NAIOTH Chapel International, was seen prophesying that the government would arrest Abu Trica if he did not tread cautiously.
In a less‑than‑one‑minute video circulating online, Prophet Nana Kwame also cautioned the socialite to be mindful of how he flaunts wealth unnecessarily on social media.
Netizens react to Abu Trica’s $8M romance fraud indictment
“I have seen someone called Abu Trica. What I saw is that the government has arrested him. I don’t want to go into details, but all I want to say is that he should be careful,” he said.
After the video resurfaced, especially now that Abu Trica has been arrested, netizens have shared their thoughts on such prophecies and the increasing number of Ghanaians being arrested over similar situations.
While some netizens have criticised the prophet for making a prediction they felt was already obvious, others used the moment to caution Ghanaians who frequently flaunt their luxury online.
Abu Trica’s Arrest by the FBI
On December 11, 2025, the FBI revealed in an indictment document that a federal grand jury had charged the 31-year-old Swedru native with two counts of fraud.
US authorities have stated that Abu Trica was part of a network that used AI-generated identities to lure elderly Americans into online relationships beginning in 2023.

The scammers allegedly gained victims’ trust through frequent messages and calls before requesting money for fabricated emergencies, investments, or travel.
The funds were then moved through co-conspirators in the US and eventually transferred to Ghana and other destinations.
Abu Trica has been charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering, and a forfeiture specification. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
