Morocco lost 1-0 in the 2025 AFCON final against Senegal Morocco lost 1-0 in the 2025 AFCON final against Senegal

A video showing a bus already prepared for an Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) victory parade for the Atlas Lions of Morocco has gone viral on various social media pages after the North African’s defeat to Senegal.

The Terenga Lions won their second AFCON trophy after beating host nation Morocco 1-0 in the final on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah in Rabat.

The loss was Morocco’s second defeat in the Africa Cup of Nations after losing 2-1 to neighbors Tunisia in the 2004 edition at the Stade Olympique de Radès.

While the Moroccans continue to lick their wounds, a video has shown how they prepared to celebrate what would have been their first AFCON victory in 50 years.

The viral video shows a specially decorated team bus branded with Morocco’s red and green national colours for a championship parade.

The video quickly sparked reactions online, with many fans mocking them for pre-mature celebratory preparations before the final against the Terenga Lions of Senegal.

The Moroccan federation had prepared three buses for a massive parade after the AFCON final: one for the U20s, one for the Arab Cup team, and another for the A team. Pape Gueye ruined everything! 😆
