Renowned and award-winning Kumawood movie director, Jackson K. Bentum, has finally addressed the long-standing debate surrounding the one who started acting first between talented actors, Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin and Kwaku Manu.

Speaking during an interview on SeanCity TV hosted by Ruthy and Busumuru Sean Kingston, the seasoned filmmaker didn’t mince words as he clarified what he believes to be the undeniable truth.

According to Jackson K. Bentum, Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lilwin, began acting way before Kwaku Manu ever stepped in front of a camera.

He emphasised that he had been directing movies in Kumawood for over two decades, working side by side with industry pioneer and Miracle Films boss, Rev. Samuel Nyamekye, long before many of today’s filmmakers and actors joined the scene.

Setting the records straight, the veteran director revealed that he featured Lilwin in a movie titled “Dakye Asɛm Nti” over twenty years ago, at a time when the young Lilwin was just beginning to show signs of his comedic brilliance.

He firmly stated that this appearance came long before Director Jones Agyeman cast Kwaku Manu in his very first film.

In fact, he recalled that during the production of “Dakye Asɛm Nti”, Director Jones Agyeman had not even begun directing and was rather part of the sound crew on his set.

However, he was quick to point out one reason why many people might mistakenly think otherwise. According to him, after Lilwin’s first appearance, he was forced to take him off the screens for a while due to his very young age at the time.

He added that this hiatus allowed other actors like Kwaku Manu to gain more visibility in the industry, thus creating the perception that Kwaku Manu began acting first.
