Veteran Ghanaian actor and media personality, Samuel Karikari, popularly known as Koo Fori from the hit TV series Efiewura, has reportedly been arrested by the Accra Central Police Command.

According to a report by ghanaweb.com and sighted by zionfelix.net, Koo Fori was taken into custody over allegations of defrauding a U.S.-based Ghanaian of $50,000.

The individual, who resides in California, is said to have transferred the money to the actor for what was believed to be a genuine investment opportunity.

However, it is alleged that Koo Fori failed to honor the investment agreement and disappeared with the funds.

Further information indicates that he defaulted on payments and failed to appear before the Dansoman District Court on April 17, 2025, as noted in court documents.

As a result of his nonappearance, a bench warrant was issued for his arrest. He was later seen in handcuffs being escorted to court by a police officer in a video shared by Atinka FM.

Despite his appearance on May 9, 2025, the court session did not take place and the case has now been rescheduled for Monday, May 12, 2025.
