Popular marriage counselor Charlotte Oduro has responded to a divorce petition filed against her by her husband, Apostle Solomon Oduro.
The petition, filed at the Kwabenya court, has laid bare deep cracks in their 17-year marriage, with allegations and counterclaims painting a picture of a once-harmonious union now in complete disarray.
Apostle Solomon Oduro, in his petition, accused his ex-wife of several marital failings, including an alarmingly low level of intimacy.
He claimed that in their 17 years together, they had only been intimate 16 times. He further alleged that his wife did not contribute to the upkeep of their home, raised their children in ways that were contrary to his expectations, and subjected him to emotional and psychological abuse.
Additionally, he claimed that Counselor Charlotte instructed their children not to allow him into their home, sometimes cooked in their master bedroom, and exhibited other behaviors that, in his view, made their marriage untenable.
In a sharp rebuttal as per a video seen on Gossips24, Counselor Charlotte Oduro denied many of the claims made by her estranged husband.
She argued that she was indeed contributing to the upkeep of the house, clarifying that funds from her husband’s church were being used to cater to the family’s needs.
She also stated that she was working for the church but was not taking any money for herself, emphasizing that she was, in fact, supporting the household in her own way.
Addressing the allegations of emotional and psychological abuse, she flatly denied ever mistreating her husband. She also refuted claims that she prevented their children from seeing their father, insisting that she never instructed them to deny him access to their home.
One of the most explosive accusations was Apostle Solomon’s claim that they had only been intimate 16 times throughout their marriage.
In response, Counselor Charlotte Oduro said she could not recall the exact number of times but acknowledged that they had not had any sexual relations for the past seven years.
The revelation of their divorce has sent shockwaves across social media, particularly given Counselor Charlotte Oduro’s reputation for advising couples on how to sustain healthy marriages.
It will be noted that Apostle Solomon Oduro, in his own public statement, has already disclosed that they had been separated for the past three years and had already undergone a traditional dissolution of their marriage last year.
