Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has praised the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College for its adaptability in addressing emerging security threats in the sub-region.

According to myjoyonline.com report on August 23, 2025, the Vice President, who also chairs the GAF Council, said the introduction of new disciplines and programmes has positioned officers to better analyse global events and anticipate conflicts.

“The introduction of the Multi-Domain Operations and Future Wars modules in the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College is timely, given the evolving nature of contemporary security threats,” she stated.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang also welcomed updates to the curriculum, especially in the areas of digitalisation and cybersecurity, describing them as critical to modern military training.

“With the role that technology is now playing in shaping the trajectory of modern security operations in the battle space, digitisation awareness and cybersecurity issues are also welcome in the curriculum,” she said.

She reaffirmed government’s commitment to supporting the College, stressing the need to keep the institution well-resourced to prepare the next generation of military professionals.

Despite increased enrollment, she observed, the College has continued to maintain high academic standards.

“The ability to make informed strategic decisions is essential in today’s complex security landscape,” the Vice President indicated.

A total of 135 officers graduated after completing programmes in Defence, International Affairs, and Security Studies.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang congratulated them and urged the officers to uphold integrity and adaptability as they assume higher responsibilities.
