Legendary Jamaican athlete, Usain Bolt has predicted that his compatriots are likely to win the 100 meters race at the upcoming World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.

According to him, Kishane Thompson and Oblique Seville have worked hard throughout the year, showcasing their impressive runs in various athletics meets.

The once world 100-meter record holder noted that despite the competition from United States athletes like Noah Lyles and others, he is optimistic about the Jamaicans emerging victorious.

“Kishane and Oblique have really shown this season that they’re doing extremely well. They should be 1-2 at least because they have proven throughout the season that they are at the top and running fast times. So it’s just all about execution,” he said during a Puma event.

Bolt disclosed that he will be among the dignitaries who will be handing over the medals to the victors and he expects his compatriots to make him proud.

“I’m happy to go to the stadium and see. Hopefully, I’ll be able to present the gold to one of them,” he added.

Noah Lyles, Oblique Seville, Kishane Thompson have recorded the fastest runs ahead of the global showpiece that will settle the debate.

The 2025 World Athletics Championships will take place in Tokyo, Japan from September 13 to 21.
