Day Four Features Several Exciting Bouts Inside Arvest Convention Center

Day four of the 2025 USA Boxing National Open concluded on Thursday inside the Arvest Convention Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. There were 127 tournament bouts decided across two sessions, wrapping up the week’s preliminary rounds and setting the table for semifinal and final matches. Thursday’s recap is presented by Rosetta Stone, USA Boxing’s official partner for language learning.

Thursday’s opening session featured a combined 74 bouts within the Junior, Intermediate, Bantam and PeeWee divisions, setting up finals competition for Friday. There were 14 female bouts and 60 male bouts throughout session one across the tournament’s four rings.

Session two featured 53 tournament bouts to close out the preliminaries in the Youth and Elite divisions. Lavant Brownlee (Louisville, Ky.) captured his second first-round stoppage of the week in the Youth male 154 lbs bracket. Francis Stewart (Cleveland, Ohio) also nabbed his second first-round stoppage of the week in the Elite male 121 lbs division.

Ruby Martinez stole the show in the second session with a stoppage of her own in the final round of her Elite female 165 lbs matchup. Martinez was dominant from start to finish, consistently scoring points with her lead hand. After earning multiple 8-counts, she closed the bout and punched her ticket to the championship bout. Entering the tournament, the Omaha, Nebraska, native had just nine bouts and an 8-1 record.

“I have a lot to prove, especially being a newer fighter, going against the girls who have been fighting for years and been to the Trials,” Martinez noted about her upcoming championship bout. “I really feel nervous, but I’m excited to prove that I deserve a spot here.”

The 2025 USA Boxing National Open will continue on Friday with two more sessions inside the Arvest Convention Center. Session one is slated to begin at noon CT, while the second session is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Fans can view brackets, bout sheets, results, and all other tournament information for the 2025 USA Boxing National Open HERE.
