A US Marshal and an illegal immigrant have both been shot during an operation in Los Angeles.
Fox News reported that the two were injured after agents surrounded a person in a vehicle in the California city.
ICE sources told the outlet that the driver then rammed the federal vehicle and attempted to flee the scene.
CNN reported that as an ICE officer confronted the driver they smashed a window with their weapon and tried to grab the suspect.
As the officer did so, authorities told the outlet that their weapon discharged, hitting the suspect and the US marshal. The illegal immigrant was hit in the elbow, sources said.

According to Fox News the two were taken to a hospital and are both expected to survive.
