Hon. J. Paul Oetken, a US District Court Judge, has granted a request from Fast Law, the lawyers of jailed Ghanaian influencer Mona Faiz Montrage, also known as Hajia4Reall, for her passport to be released.

The directive is to help facilitate Hajia4Reall’s self-deportation proceedings to Ghana upon completion of her sentence at the FDC Philadelphia facility.

On November 1, 2024, lawyers for Mona Faiz Montrage requested her passport as part of an earlier judgment.

According to the document obtained by Nydjlive.com, lawyers impressed on the judge, saying,

“We are respectfully seeking the return of Ms. Montrage’s passport to initiate her self-deportation proceedings to Ghana. We have conferred with AUSA Kevin Mead, and the government does not object to this request,” they stated.

The judge has since granted the request and ordered that Mona Faiz Montrage’s passport be released to her lawyers.

Mona Faiz Montrage was sentenced to 12 months and one day in prison by U.S. District Judge J. Paul Oetken on June 28, 2024.

Montrage previously pleaded guilty on February 21, 2024, to conspiracy to receive stolen money.

In addition to the prison term, Mona Montrage, was sentenced to three years of supervised release and ordered to forfeit $216,475 and pay restitution for $1,387,458.
