An urgent alert has been sparked after a female jogger was grabbed from behind during an early morning run in Adelaide‘s north.

The woman was jogging along a pedestrian walkway next to a train station at Coglin Street in Brompton about 8am on Friday when she was assaulted.

Police said the woman had just overtaken the man, who was walking in the same direction, when he reached forward and grabbed her.

The jogger broke away from the man’s grasp and went straight away to police.

She was not injured in the assault.

The man is described as aged in his late 40s to early 50s, about 178cm tall, and with a medium build and short ‘straggly’ black/grey hair.

The woman said he was wearing tan pants, a dark jumper, and had a tan-coloured backpack.

The area does not have CCTV and police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to contact them.
