For reportedly beating his teenage nephew to death at Kporiju, police in Sawla, Savannah Region, have detained 25-year-old Peter Chipurotey.

Locals told Adom News that the culprit killed the victim while he slept by sneaking into his room with a stick and striking his skull.

After noticing Peter running out of his room, the deceased’s friends found his lifeless corpse and informed the Kalba Police Post, which resulted in Peter’s arrest.

The suspect confessed to the crime during questioning, telling authorities that his nephew did not respect him.

Since then, the family has been given permission to bury the deceased’s body in accordance with Islamic tradition.
