Unbeaten bright prospect IBF#4 Kyosuke Takami (9-0, 7 KOs; amateur 43-4), 107.75, very impressively captured the Japanese light flyweight belt when he kept battering WBC#3 defending titlist Toshiki Kawamitsu (11-2, 7 KOs; amateur 35-15), 107.75, to chalk up a fine TKO win at 2:26 of the sixth round in a scheduled ten on Tuesday in Tokyo, Japan. Making good use of fast footwork and quick combinations, the challenger Takami obviously controlled the first half as tallied by open scoring system—49-46 twice and 50-45. The sixth witnessed Takami accelerate his attack to bring him to a standstill so that the referee Tanaka declared a halt. Takami, still 23, looked like a future world champ.

    Promoter: Misako Promotions.
