Fans were seen dragging the referee out of the stadium

The 2025 National Interpools descended into chaos on the 5th day after referee Ndanga Mundi and his assistants were brutally attacked by angry supporters of Mintack FC on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

The much-anticipated fixture between Mintack FC and Kumba City FC failed to reach its natural conclusion as repeated pitch invasions spiraled into shocking violence.

Videos circulating online show terrifying scenes as enraged fans stormed the field, kicking and punching the match officials.

The battered referees were eventually whisked away under heavy security escort, with the game abandoned before full time.

The fans, however, did not stop as they continued with the attacks and eventually chased the officials who ran for their lives by entering a nearby forest.

The anger of Mintack’s faithful was fueled by what they perceived as a string of unfair decisions.

Over 52 fouls were whistled against them, nine yellow cards and one red card issued to their players, and a controversial penalty awarded to Kumba City.

Tensions escalated further when a saved penalty was ordered to be retaken, despite protests that the goalkeeper had complied with the rules.

According to reports, referee Ndanga Mundi is no stranger to controversy. Over the years, his matches have been marked by disputed red cards, questionable penalties, and abrupt endings, sparking debates over his consistency and neutrality.

The Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) are now under pressure to act by punishing the actors involved in the chaos.
