    • A brawl appeared to erupt between footy fans at the Sydney Cricket Ground
    • It came during Port Adelaide’s eight-point victory against the Sydney Swans

A brawl between multiple footy fans appeared to erupt during Sydney Swans‘ defeat by Port Adelaide on Sunday at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Dean Cox’s side, who are 2-3 for the start of their season, posed a late comeback against Power but their efforts came just too little too late with the Swans suffering a 10.17 (77) to 13.7 (85) at home.

Meanwhile, unsavoury scenes erupted in the stands as one spectator was seen allegedly appearing to throw a punch at another individual while the game was still being played.

One individual appeared to confront members of the crowd before tensions flared between the spectators.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Sydney Swans for comment.

It came after another unsavoury incident took place in the crowd after a young Swans fan appeared to throw a banner at Aliir Aliir after the tall defender stopped a goal from going through.

Willie Rioli and Mitch Georgiades both starred for Port booting a hat-trick of goals each, as Ken Hinkley’s side held on to a late surge from the Swans to seal back-to-back victories.

There was some concern for Port Midfielder Ollie Wines during the match after he was substituted with a heart issue in the first quarter.

Though Power general manager Chris Davies confirmed that Wines was feeling much better in the rooms at three-quarter time, the footy star had undergone surgery in December to rectify the heart condition.

Wines has managed his heart condition since being diagnosed in 2022 and was last subbed out of a match in last year’s round 10 win over Hawthorn.

In his absence, Port skipper Connor Rozee (one goal, 27 disposals) again proved damaging, so much so that Swans tagger James Jordon was moved off his post at quarter-time.

Zak Butters also dominated with 27 disposals and seven clearances.

Willie Rioli, after a difficult week as the latest Indigenous AFL star to be racially abused, kicked three goals to help keep Sydney winless at their home ground this season.

Rioli was at the source of the opening major, releasing to Mitch Georgiades (three goals) inside-50, who then spotted an unmanned Sam Powell-Pepper (two) in the goal square.

Swans defender Nick Blakey was too slow to read the play, with Powell-Pepper easily slotting.

Isaac Heeney (two goals) pulled off a superb six-pointer from the pocket to reply but the visitors remained on top, enjoying a 4.2 (26) to 1.2 (8) lead at quarter time.
