Uganda claimed their first victory at the 2025 CAF TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) with a commanding 3-0 win over Guinea on Friday August 8, 2025.

The Group C clash, played at the Nelson Mandela National Stadium in Kampala, saw Uganda take the lead in the 31st minute through Reagan Mpande, who was set up by Joel Sserunjogi.

In the second half, Uganda extended their advantage in the 63rd minute when Allan Okello converted a penalty to make it 2-0. Ahimbisibwe sealed the win in the 90th minute with the team’s third goal.

The result moves Uganda to second place in Group C with three points after two matches, level on points with Guinea, who are third.
