Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is reportedly at the center of a tragic road incident in his native Cameroon after allegedly being involved in a fatal motorcycle accident.

According to multiple Cameroonian news outlets, including Camer.be, Lebledparle, and ActuCameroun, Ngannou was riding a motorcycle in the Omnisports district of Yaoundé when he collided with a 17-year-old girl, identified as Ntsama Brigitte Manuella.

Reports from Daily Mail Sport state that the young victim sustained severe injuries to her arm and leg. Ngannou, 38, is said to have personally rushed her to the Yaoundé General Hospital in an effort to save her life. Tragically, despite medical efforts, she later succumbed to her injuries.

The Professional Fighters League (PFL) star has yet to publicly comment on the incident. However, sources close to the situation reveal that Ngannou is deeply shaken and devastated by the tragedy. It has also been reported that he covered the girl’s medical expenses.

Authorities in Cameroon have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.

Meanwhile, Ngannou’s representatives have not responded to requests for comment, and some combat sports sources claim he has been unreachable since the incident.
